Lead Remediation and Abatement
PROCEED, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs addresses the ongoing threat of childhood lead poisoning as a result of residential exposure, in communities throughout Union County where children under the age of six are reported to have elevated levels of lead in their blood.
We provide lead remediation and abatement as well as healthy homes activities to families residing in residential buildings built before 1978, with a maximum of four(4) family residential units. Our activities include:
- Lead risk assessments: designed to identify lead hazards, locate all lead-based paint in a home, and determine lead management strategies,
- Lead-based paint inspections and abatement (lead-based paint removal): designed to permanently eliminate existing lead-based paint hazards.
Our staff are trained and certified to conduct lead-based assessments, inspections and abatement activities. S
